2 (10 oz.) pkgs. frozen mixed vegetables 2 tbsp. butter 1 can cheddar cheese soup 1/2 soup can of milk Dash Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp. brown sugar 1 can French Fried onion rings Cook vegetables as directed on package, drain. Stir butter into hot vegetables. Pour into well buttered baking dish. Mix cheddar cheese soup with milk, pour over vegetables. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. Bake 25 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven. Remove and scatter 1 can French Fried onion rings over top. Put back in oven and bake 10 minutes longer. My grandmother Virginia Blessing, and my mother Ruth Ann VanSickle both fixed this recipe quite often especially for family dinners and potluck dinners at church. It was such a hit at our church dinners growing up that when I got married and began fixing it for our church suppers. it has now become a very requested dish for every occasion. |
