1 pkg. of 2 layer yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg
1 c. pecans, chopped

FILLING:

2/3 c. reserved cake mix
1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Grease bottom and sides of 9 x 13 inch pan. Reserve 2/3 cup cake mix for filling. In large mixing bowl, combine remaining cake mix, butter and egg; mix until crumbly and press in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Prepare filling. Beat all ingredients together and pour over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until filling is set. Cool and cut into 36 bars.
