2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 c. shortening (lard)
1 egg yolk
Milk
3 handfuls of crushed Wheaties
8 to 10 apples
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix the flour, salt, sugar, and shortening as for pie crust. Add 1 egg yolk and enough milk to make 2/3 cup milk. Mix into dough. Roll 1/2 of the dough and put on large cookie sheet. Spread 3 handfuls of Wheaties cereal over the crust on the cookie sheet. Peel and slice, then 8 to 10 apples over the layer of Wheaties. Sprinkle 1 cup sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon over the apples. Roll remaining dough and cover the fruit. Beat egg whites until frothy and spread over top crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Glaze with powdered sugar.
