LAYERED SALAD 
1 head lettuce, broken into sm. pieces
1 onion, chopped
2 cans water chestnuts, sliced
8 to 9 carrots, shredded
1 pkg. frozen peas, not defrosted
1 pt. mayonnaise
1 pkg. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled

Must make the day before.

Layer everything, starting with lettuce. When you get to mayonnaise, spread carefully to form a seal over salad, then top with cheese. Cover and place in refrigerator overnight. Sprinkle bacon on before serving.
