HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE 
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. granulated sugar
6 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. shortening, melted
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 3/4 c. hot water

Sift flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons cocoa into a bowl. Stir in milk and melted shortening. Mix until smooth. Add nuts. Spread batter in greased 8-inch square pan. Mix brown sugar with remaining 1/4 cup cocoa and sprinkle over top of batter. Pour hot water over entire batter.

Bake at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool slightly on wire rack. Cut into 1-inch squares. Invert squares on plate and dip sauce from pan over each.
