SAUCE FOR SPAGHETTI OR LASAGNA 
2 lbs. Italian sausage, mild or not
2 lbs. ground meat, use as meat sauce or make meatballs
2 (12 oz.) cans tomato puree and 4 cans water
3 (29 oz.) cans tomato puree and 1 can water
1/2 c. grated cheese
2 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. pepper
1 tbsp. oregano
1 tbsp. basil or bay leaf
1 tbsp. onion powder
1 to 2 tsp. sugar

Brown meat, meatballs or sausage (I use microwave). Drain meat. Put in large pot and cook on low heat 4-5 hours, covered. If it looks like it's getting thin take lid off for a while. Yields about 6 quarts of sauce.

MEATBALLS:

2 lbs. ground meat
1 c. bread crumbs
2 eggs
2-3 handfuls water 1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. garlic
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. oregano
1 tbsp. grated cheese

Mix all ingredients together. Brown. I use microwave 10 minutes covered, turning once. Put into sauce. Yields 10 meatballs.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
