SPECIAL OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 1/2 c. Quaker oats
1 c. flour
10 oz. M & M plain chocolate candies
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. raisins
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix brown sugar, butter, vanilla and eggs. Beat until fluffy. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown. Remove to wire rack to cool. Makes 4 dozen. Freezes beautifully. May double.
