The only electricity used in baking this pie is your oven. A prepared pie crust was used also. If you choose to make your own crust, do so.

Boil unpeeled sweet potatoes in a large pot with baking oil. Test the potatoes with a fork for tenderness. When tender, cool slightly in a colander.
