3 c. sugar
1 c. butter
3 c. flour
1 c. sour cream
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
8 eggs

Cream butter and sugar. Add 8 egg yolks and beat until smooth. Add soda and flour alternately with sour cream. Beat until smooth. Beat 8 egg whites until frothy. Add to flour mixture with extract.
