ONE HOUR ROLLS 
2 cakes yeast (or 2 pkgs. dry yeast)
1/4 c. warm water
1 1/2 c. buttermilk, heated to lukewarm
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. melted shortening
1 tsp. salt
4 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Dissolve yeast in warm water; combine buttermilk, sugar, shortening, and salt. Sift flour and soda in large bowl; mix yeast with milk and add flour mix. Mix well. Let stand 10 minutes. Roll out and cut in desired shape. Melt butter in pan and place rolls in pan. Let stand 3 minutes and bake at 325 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
