BROCCOLI SOUP 
1 c. finely chopped onion
3 med. bunches broccoli
3 qt. water
1 stick butter
2 tbsp. beef or chicken base
1 pt. half & half
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
Flour and water, 1 tbsp. per cup

Clean and cut up broccoli. Discard all woody sections. Saute onion in butter and beef or chicken base. Add water and bring to rolling boil. Add broccoli and boil until tender. To thicken mix flour and water to desired thickness and slowly add to hot soup. Remove from heat and add half & half.
