1/4 c. unbeaten egg whites (2)
1/2 c. white sugar
2 tbsp. corn syrup
1/16 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix all ingredients in top of double boiler over boiling water. Cook about 6 minutes. Stir with finger until too hot to touch. Remove from heat. Beat until mixture forms peaks (about 10 minutes).
