1 lb. ground beef 1 med.-lg. onion 3 c. diced celery 1 can bean sprouts 1 sm. can bamboo shoots, drained 1 sm. can water chestnuts, drained 1/2 c. dark molasses, drained 1/2 c. cornstarch 1/4-1/2 c. soy sauce 1/2 water In large pan add water to celery (just enough to cover celery). Cook for about 15 minutes. While this is cooking, brown meat and onion. Add to celery. Add bean sprouts, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Mix cornstarch with water and mix until smooth. Gradually add to mixture until thickened slightly. Add molasses and soy sauce. Serve with rice or noodles. (Chicken or other meat may be substituted for ground beef.) |
