1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. milk
1 egg
decorative chocolate stars, chunks or Hershey's Kisses
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients except stars. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 8 minutes. Immediately top each cookie with a decorative chocolate piece, pressing down firmly so cookie cracks around edge.
