CRACKER COOKIES | |
50 saltine crackers 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips 2 (3 oz.) pkgs. chopped nuts (approx. 1 c.) Line a greased jelly roll pan with crackers. Melt butter, butter and brown sugar. Boil for 2 minutes. Pour over crackers. Bake for 3 1/2 to 4 minutes at 350 degrees until bubbles form between crackers. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. When chips are melted, spread them over the top of crackers. Sprinkle with nuts. Cool until set. Loosen crackers around edge of pan with knife or spatula. Heat pan in oven again if necessary to loosen them. Break or cut crackers at seams. Store in sealed container in refrigerator until serving time. These cookies taste a lot like toffee. |
