PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE 
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
5 to 7 slices pineapple
Maraschino cherries (optional)
1 pkg. yellow cake mix for 1 layer cake (or 1/2 of a regular size pkg.)

Melt butter and brown sugar in round cake pan. Remove from heat and arrange pineapple and cherries in mixture. Prepare batter as directed on cake package. Pour over mixture in the pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 40 to 50 minutes, until cake tests done. Let stand 5 minutes. Invert on serving plate. Serve with whipped cream or Cool Whip. Makes 6 servings.
