FIG CAKE 
1 stick butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pt. fig preserves
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream together first 3 ingredients. Sift together flour, soda, salt, and baking powder. Mix in fig preserves and chopped nuts. Fold into creamed mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees 50-60 minutes.
