APPLE CRISP | |
6 tart apples 1 c. sugar divided in half 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. crushed cloves 1 tbsp. lemon juice 3/4 c. flour 6 tbsp. butter, room temperature 1/4 c. chopped nuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel, core, and slice apples into a bowl and sprinkle with lemon juice, add 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and mix well. Place into a 1 1/2 quart baking dish. In separate bowl, mix flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and butter to a crumbly consistency. Sprinkle over apple mixture. Top with nuts and bake for 45 minutes. Great alone or topped with a scoop of ice cream. |
