BLACKBERRY JAM CAKE 
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
1 c. blackberry jam
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cocoa
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs one at a time; then add jam. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Add alternately with flour. Add spices and salt. Bake in 3 greased layer cake pans in a 375 degree oven until done. When cold, put together with caramel icing.
