LIME CUCUMBER PICKLES 
7 lb. cucumbers sliced in 1/4 inch pieces

Soak in 1 cup slack lime for each gallon of water. Mix thoroughly by stirring occasionally. Soak 24 hours. Wash thoroughly in cold water, then soak in cold vinegar solution overnight. Cook in morning 35 minutes and seal.

VINEGAR SOLUTION:

2 qt. dark vinegar
10 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pickling spice
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. whole cloves

Put the spices in a bag. Can use ripe cucumbers peeled and cut in chunks. Makes about 7 pints. Very crisp and they stay crisp.
