CABBAGE & POTATOES 
1 lg. cabbage
8 white potatoes, cut in halves
1 c. chopped ham pieces
2 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. bacon drippings
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper

Shred cabbage. Put in pot with 1 cup water. Mix in pieces of cooked ham. Add salt, pepper and sugar; stir. Add potatoes on top of cabbage. Pour bacon drippings on top of cabbage and potatoes. Add 1/2 teaspoon red pepper. Cover and cook slowly. Drain off liquid. Serves 6.
