CHOCOLATE BREAD PUDDING 
2 beaten eggs
About 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
4 c. milk, scalded
1/4 c. soft butter
2 c. bread cubes
2 sq. (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate in milk (beat until blended)

Combine eggs, sugar, salt, vanilla and nutmeg. Add scalded milk and butter; mix well. Add bread and pour into buttered baking dish. Set baking dish in pan of hot water. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 45-50 minutes, or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm or cold with cream, plain or whipped.
