Mix together well: 2 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. allspice 1 1/2 c. applesauce 1/2 c. water 1/2 c. shortening 2 eggs 1 c. raisins 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Makes one 9x9x2 cake (bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes) or cupcakes (bake cupcakes 25-30 minutes). Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cool. Moist and delicious.
