CAROL'S HOMEMADE BREAD 
2 tbsp. butter
1 1/4 c. water (warm, almost hot)
3 c. flour (all-purpose)
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 pkg. yeast

Put warm water in bowl, dissolve yeast in water, after it's dissolved, stir in butter, salt and sugar. Mix well.

Add flour 1 cup at a time and stir in well. After all flour has been added, sprinkle flour around bowl, etc. Place warm wet cloth over bowl. Let rise until double in bulk, at least 1 hour.

Punch down - put flour on wax paper. Put dough on flour. Add flour little at a time until dough is fairly firm, knead it! Grease pan well. Divide dough in half and place in pan. Put rest in small pans. Bake at 350 degrees until brown. Rub butter on top.
