1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
5 c. flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Mix dry ingredients. Combine with wet ones; don't work too much. Roll out and cut out cookies. Bake 10-15 minutes in 400 degree oven.
