BROWN SUGAR COOKIES 
1 1/3 c. butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Shape into 2 long rolls; press to make compact. Roll in plastic wrap and chill. Can be refrigerated for 2 weeks. Bake 9-11 minutes at 350 degrees.
