HUG ME FUDGE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. light or dark corn syrup
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
12 lg. marshmallows or 1 1/2 c. miniature marshmallows
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
1 c. coarsely chopped dried cherries (or chopped maraschino cherries)

Lightly grease an 8" square pan. In 2 quart microwaveable bowl combine sugar, corn syrup and milk. Top with butter. Microwave on High (100%) five minutes; stir to dissolve sugar. Add marshmallows. Microwave on High (1005) five minutes. Stir in chocolate until melted. Stir in vanilla, walnuts and cherries. Pour into prepared pan. Refrigerate one hour or until firm, cut into squares. Makes 24 squares.

NOTE: Dried cherries are available at gourmet and specialty stores. If not available, maraschino cherries are an excellent substitute. Drain cherries well, chop coarsely and press between paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
