AUSTRALIAN PAVLOVA 
4 egg whites
1 c. super fine granulated sugar
Whipping cream
Fresh fruit, especially strawberries, kiwi fruit, sliced peaches

Place egg whites in a bowl and beat until soft peaks form (about 1 minute). Slowly add sugar, beating with an electric mixer until it is all dissolved (about 8 minutes). Lightly grease and flour an oven tray and make an 8 inch circle on it. Place the meringue in the circle and spread to the sides. (Try to make the sides as straight as possible). Bake for 1 hour at 260 degrees. Turn off oven and let cool in oven.. When cool pavlova will crack and drop. Decorate with cream and fresh or tinned fruit.
