FILLED DATE COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
4 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. lard

Mix like pie crust. Soften with 1 cup sour milk and 1 teaspoon baking soda.

FILLING:

2 c. cut dates
1 c. sugar
1 c. water

Boil until thick.
