CHUCKWAGON CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. ground beef or ground turkey 1/2 tsp. salt 1 can (15 oz.) chili beans in gravy 1 can (14 1/2 oz.) white hominy, drained 1 can (11 oz.) condensed Cheddar cheese soup 2 slices American cheese, cut in half diagonally Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Crumble ground meat into a medium skillet. Brown over medium heat; drain excess fat. Sprinkle meat with salt. In a 2 quart casserole, stir chili beans with gravy, hominy and soup until combined. Stir in meat. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until heated through. Arrange cheese on top. Bake 2 minutes longer or until cheese melts. To serve, spoon into bowls. Serve with tortilla chips, a green salad and lime sherbet. Makes 6 (1 cup) servings. 1 can (12 ounce) corn with red and green sweet peppers, drained, can be used in place of the hominy if desired. |
