BERTHA FAIRBANKS WILLIAMS' BROWN BREAD | |
1 1/2 c. white flour 2 tsp. baking soda & 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. dark brown sugar 1 3/4 c. whole wheat or graham flour 1 c. raisins 2 lg. eggs, beaten 2 c. sour milk or buttermilk 1/2 c. molasses 1/3 c. melted shortening Sift together white flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Add sugar and graham flour. Mix in raisins. Combine eggs, sour milk, molasses and melted shortening. Add to mixture. Pour into 2 greased bread pans. Bake 45-50 minutes in 350 degree oven. |
