CARAMEL NUT FILLING 
3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. cream or condensed milk
1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. of butter
1 tsp. of vanilla

Boil all ingredients except vanilla about 5 minutes. Remove from the fire, add the flavoring and beat until it begins to thicken, add 1/2 or 2/3 cup nut meats and spread.
