OLD FASHION TEA CAKES 
1 egg
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
3-4 c. all-purpose flour

Mix soda in buttermilk, set aside. Stir until foamy. Cream Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, mix well, add salt. Mix in flour until dough is stiff. Place in refrigerator for an hour to chill, place on a floured board, roll thin cut cakes. Bake at 325 degrees until brown.
