BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES 
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 c. light brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or dates or coconut or Brazil nuts

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Stir oil and sugar until blended. Stir in egg. Stir flour, baking powder and salt together; blend in. Mix in vanilla and walnuts. Spread in well greased square pan, 8 x 8 x 2 inches. Bake 25 minutes. Do not overbake! Cut in bars while warm.
