CHOCOLATE CHIP - SOUR CREAM CAKE
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar

Cream butter; gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

Combine flour, baking powder, and soda; add 1/3 of dry ingredients to creamed mixture, stirring with a spoon until blended. Add half of sour cream, stirring until blended. Repeat procedure, ending with flour mixture. Stir in vanilla.

Combine chocolate morsels, nuts, and brown sugar; mix well, and set aside. Spoon half of batter into a well greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Sprinkle with half of chocolate morsel mixture. Spoon remaining batter into pan, and top with remaining chocolate morsel mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
