MOTHER B'S SWEET RICE 
1 1/2 c. "River Rice"
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 gal. milk
3/4 stick butter
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
4 egg yolks

(Leave small amount in bottle, approximately 1/2 cup not needed.)

Rinse rice in large pan - drain. Add water to cover rice. Place on burner until water evaporates.

Add most of 1/2 gallon milk. Cook on medium heat. When boils turn on low (stir slowly). Add butter, salt and vanilla. When rice is slightly dry add sugar. Then when it drys again add egg yolks. Cook until ready to pour in dish.
