1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar, scant
2 eggs
2 tbsp. cream or milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Apple butter

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, cream and vanilla. Add flour and salt. Roll out and cut with 2 inch cutter. Fill cookies with apple butter. Put hole in top cookie. Seal edges. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
