CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH VANILLA
FROSTING
 
2 c. flour
2/3 c. cocoa
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. mayonnaise
1 1/3 c. water

Mix all ingredients together well using a mixer. Bake in 2 (9 inch) round cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes.

VANILLA FROSTING:

3 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. water
2 tsp. vanilla

Beat together 1 cup of sugar, shortening and vanilla. Add remaining sugar and water alternately. Beat until smooth. Frost cooled cake.
