OLD FASHIONED POUND CAKE | |
1 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. shortening 3 c. sugar 5 eggs 3 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. lemon flavor Cream butter and shortening. Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and lemon. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10" tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, 15 minutes or until test done. Cool in pan 10 to 15 minutes, remove from pan. |
