OLD FASHIONED SHORTCAKE 
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/3 c. butter

Mix dry ingredients, rub in butter. Add milk and beaten egg; mix well. Spread in buttered 9 x 9 inch pan or muffin tins for individual cakes. Bake 10-15 minutes until toothpick comes out clean at 450 degrees. Split cake, fill with sweetened, fresh strawberries (or other fruit) cover generously with whipped cream and top with whole strawberry.
