CHILI DIP 
3 strips bacon, cut in sm. crosswise strips
2 med. yellow onions, chopped fine
3 tbsp. chopped green chiles
2 cans (15 oz.) tomatoes
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 clove garlic, peeled & crushed
1/2 tsp. cumin
2 dashes Tabasco
1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
Juice of 1/2 lemon

Brown bacon in a large heavy skillet. Add onions and saute until golden. Add peppers and tomatoes and simmer 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients. Garnish top with some grated cheese. Serve with chips or tostadas. Makes 2 1/2 cups.
