CHOCOLATE CHIP SUPER COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. butter (softened)
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
3 tsp. vanilla
5 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts or your choice (optional)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Microwave for 1 minute on high to soften shortening and butter. Mix shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Sift in remaining ingredients.

Roll dough balls 2 inches in diameter. Place 2 1/2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown.

Makes 3 to 4 dozen SUPER COOKIES.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
