ICE BOX COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. sugar (white)
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix ingredients by creaming shortening and sugars. Add eggs and mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt and mix in with egg and sugar mixture. Add vanilla and nuts, mixing well. Roll dough in 1 1/2" to 2", roll on wax paper. Store in refrigerator until dough is chilled. Slice and bake as many as you want and cook on a greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees about 12 minutes or until light brown. Dough will keep in refrigerator for several days.
