CAROL'S FUDGE CAKE 
2 c. self rising flour
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. liquid shortening
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Mix butter, oil, cocoa, and water in boiler and bring to boil. Combine flour, sugar and stir. Pour liquid mixture into dry mixture and add egg and beat. Put soda in buttermilk and add to mixture and beat. Add vanilla and beat well. Pour into 9 x 13 inch greased and floured pan. Cook at 400 degrees 35 to 40 minutes. Top with frosting while hot.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter, melted
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk

Prepare 10 minutes before cake is done. Combine in pan and melt. Add 1 box powdered sugar and mix well until smooth. Pour over hot cake.
