1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 egg
Pinch of salt
Shortening size of egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour milk or 1/2 c. coffee and 1/2 c. milk

Cream together sugar, cocoa, shortening and salt. Add egg; beat.

Add soda to sour milk, alternate with flour. Add vanilla last. Bake in 350 degree oven 25-30 minutes in 9x13 inch pan or may bake as cupcakes.
