1 3/4 c. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1/2 c. cocoa}
1/2 c. boiling water} Mix to paste
2 1/2 c. cake flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Bake 35 minutes in 350 degree oven. Use a 9x13 pan or it also makes 36 cupcakes.
