CHOCOLATE SYRUP 
3 c. sugar
1 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. water
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix sugar, cocoa, cream of tartar and water. Boil 10 minutes without stirring. Add vanilla and salt. Let cool and refrigerate. Makes 2 pints.
