MIMI'S OREO DESSERT 
15 oz. pkg. Oreo cookies
1/2 c. butter
1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
1 can Hershey's fudge sauce
1 pkg. Dream Whip (or other dry whipped topping mix)

Crush Oreo cookies (use blender or freeze first to make them easier to crush by hand). Melt 1/2 cup of butter. Mix crushed cookies and butter and press 2/3 of the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch pan. Cover with 1/2 gallon of ice cream which has been softened enough to spread easily. Cover with the Hershey's fudge sauce. (Directions on the can tells you how to heat the sauce to make it easier to spread.) Top with whipped topping prepared according to package directions. Sprinkle remaining cookie mixture on top. Dessert tastes best when allow to freeze for 10 to 12 hours.
