PINWHEEL CHEESE MEATLOAF | |
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef 3/4 c. cracker crumbs (or bread crumbs) 1/2 c. finely chopped onion 1 egg 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. prepared horseradish (optional) 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese (for topping) Combine beef, cracker crumbs, onion, egg, salt, horseradish, oregano, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce and 1/2 can of tomato sauce. Mix well and spread on waxed paper or foil shaped into flat rectangle about 14 inches by 10 inches. Sprinkle cheese evenly over meat mixture up to 1 inch of edges. Roll up from shorter side like jelly roll, and press ends to seal. Remove from paper or foil. Transfer to shallow baking dish, seam side down. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. |
