CHEESE SCONES 
1 3/4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
1/4 c. chilled, unsalted butter
2 eggs, beaten
1/3 c. whipping cream

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grease and flour baking sheet. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into large bowl. Cut in cheese and butter using pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Reserve 1 tablespoon egg. Blend remaining egg with cream in small bowl. Mix into dry ingredients using fork. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface and pat into 8 inch circle, 3/4 inch thick. Cut into 6 wedges. Arrange on prepared sheet. Brush tops with reserved eggs. Bake until golden, about 15 minutes. Serve warm.
